TapIn helps friends make plans right now. This page says, in plain words, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We don’t sell your information and we don’t show ads.

What we collect

• Your account: your phone number and/or school (.edu) email, used to log you in with a one-time code and, for a school email, to confirm you’re a student.
• Your profile: your name, username, school, and profile picture if you add one. Other TapIn users can see these.
• What you do in TapIn: friends, circles, plans you post or tap into, chat messages in plans, and memory photos. These are shared only with the people the app says they’re shared with (for example: plans with the circles and people you send them to; chat and memory photos with the people in that plan).
• Contacts (only if you allow it): to show which of your contacts are on TapIn, the app turns each phone number into a one-way fingerprint on your phone and checks those against TapIn accounts. Your contact list is not uploaded or stored. Invite texts are sent from your own phone, by you.
• Photos and camera (only if you allow it): used only when you take a memory photo or choose a profile or circle picture.
• Notifications (only if you allow it): a device token so we can tell you about plans, friends and messages.
• Reports and blocks you make, so we can keep TapIn safe.

We don’t collect your location, and we don’t use tracking or advertising tools.

Who helps us run TapIn

• Supabase stores TapIn’s data and photos (United States).
• Expo delivers push notifications.
• Twilio sends text-message login codes.
• Resend sends email login codes.

They only use your information to provide these services to TapIn.

Your choices

• Delete your account any time: Profile → Delete account. Your profile, plans, messages, photos and friendships are deleted.
• Block or report anyone from their profile. Blocked people can’t see you and you can’t see them.
• Turn off contacts, camera, photos or notifications any time in your iPhone’s Settings.

Age

TapIn is for college students and is not intended for anyone under 17.
